In today's world of rushing about from one point to the next, it makes perfect sense that products that help us get ready to face the day a little bit faster or at least make the preparation process a little bit simpler would be in great demand. Enter the growing popularity of a product known as the one-cup coffee maker. Some people refer to them as pods makers as there is a type of coffee packet, known as a pod, that contains a pre-measured serving for one of many different coffee brands and flavors.

While the simplicity of these coffee makers is well worth mentioning, there are other features that make them a definite winner in your morning routine. Some of the great features of pods coffee makers include the following:

1. Less Waste. You are far less likely to waste the coffee you've made with a pods coffee maker. We have a tendency for our eyes to be larger than our stomachs in many cases and we make more coffee than we really want or need. For this reason we actually end up wasting a good bit of coffee and that oh so precious water. This also actually winds up wasting money as well over time despite the claims that pods are so expensive.
2. Many of the one-cup coffee makers have reservoirs that mean you do not have to add water every single time you make coffee (definite time and mess saver when you only have half of one eyelid open). This is not a feature of all one-cup coffee makers and is more important to some than others. It's a deciding factor for me.
3. Easy. I cannot say enough about this. Even the most technologically challenged should be able to figure out quite easily how to make coffee with one of these coffee makers.
4. Quick. Most one-cup coffee makers can have a cup of coffee brewed in two minutes or less. There are some that take up to five minutes so do your research. The truth is that two minutes for a cup of coffee is far less time than you would spend waiting if you were waiting for a pot to brew. The quicker I get my first sip of coffee in the morning the quicker I can move on to the other portions of my morning routine.
5. Convenient. You will find that many pods coffee makers allow you to brew your coffee directly into your travel coffee mug. This is a very convenient way to get your coffee going and get out the door without worrying about making a mess, pouring unused coffee, or spilling coffee in the process of getting it from the pot to your mug. I love this feature of my one-cup coffee maker and have a sneaky suspicion that other coffee lovers around the world will be converted soon for this feature alone.

If you haven't considered purchasing a one-cup coffee maker in the past, perhaps it's time you took a second look. Many of the old arguments against them are falling quickly to the wayside as technology and selection improve. I think you will be amazed at how much a purchase such as this will improve your morning routine.
