Coffee Art, More than Just a Cup

coffee artAs America seems to be cultivating a coffee culture with coffee houses numbers quickly reaching McDonald's scope, we are finding an emergence of coffee not online in art, but as art. Coffee art is becoming more and more common as new artists arise and grab their creative spark from the favorite cup of Joe. Quite literally in some cases as coffee is used as the actual 'paint' in some of these neat art pieces.

There is an artist who specializes in reproducing famous works of art painted one hundred percent with coffee. Some of her works include Mona Latte, Espresso to Gogh, Picasso's Blend, and Starry Night. Karen Eland is the creator of this particular brand of coffee art. Perhaps only a true coffee lover could come up with the inspiration for this particular type of art. But this is beautiful work that shows an entirely new and incredible side to coffee. Other coffee artists include Andrew Saur and Angel Sarkela-Saur. They use coffee as a watercolor for their art and have varied painting projects. Some of these projects stem from coffee inspired themes and others are nature stills while still others are conceptual paintings. If you haven't checked out this type of art, you can't really call yourself a true coffee lover until you do, so be sure to do so.

In addition to using coffee as the artists tool, paintings of coffee drinkers, coffee cups, coffee beans, and many other coffee themes are popping up around the country, in homes, kitchens, bathrooms, restaurants, book stores, and coffee houses all around the country. If paintings aren't your thing, and let's face it not everyone is into painting, you can find coffee themed accents for tables, kitchen countertops, even art deco coffee makers can be found for the particularly discriminating coffee lover. There are coasters to bring the coffee theme to your living or family room, even blankets for coffee drinkers. There are special mugs that you can have made for your coffee drinking artistic enjoyment that have renderings of everything from famous pieces of art, to photos of your dog screen printed on them.

For those who see art in different lights, have you seen the many candles that have coffee beans embedded in them? These are not only visually stunning but the scents and aromas are very nice when the candles are being burned. It will definitely put you in the mood for a nice cup of coffee. It reminds me of the smells that permeate the air inside a coffee house. It is definitely a great candle to burn in your home when having friends and family over, as it is such a home like smell. I also think it is great for real estate showings.
