Coffee Flavors

coffee flavoursCoffee is a rather personal drink to many people all around the world. Different people prefer different flavors for their coffee drinking pleasure. It is the vastness of the differences in selections, flavor, and aroma that makes coffee the popular drink that it has become around the world.

There are many things that affect the flavor of the coffee you drink. First of all there are different types of coffee beans. Arabica beans are the most common and provide the best flavor. These beans go through a very selective picking process and receive first class spa treatment before making it to your coffee cup. The better the quality of the bean the better the overall flavor.

Roasting
The roast of your bean will actually have a profound impact on the flavor of your coffee. The roasting process brings out essential oils, which provide distinctive flavoring. The darker the roast (the longer the bean has been roasted) the more bitter and perhaps 'burned' the coffee will taste. It is a wise idea to try many different roasts in order to find that one that you prefer best. Start with a light roast and move on to darker roasts until you find the one you like best. Part of the fun of drinking coffee is trying new things.

Flavors
There are all kinds of flavors you can add to coffee that will enhance the taste. This is where your imagination can take hold. If you have a flavor you enjoy, chances are it will go well with coffee. Vanilla, raspberry, and caramel are some wonderful flavors that come right off the top of my head for the best enjoyment of coffee. Flavored syrups are perhaps the easiest way to add the flavor of your choice to your coffee and can often be found on the coffee isle of your local supermarket.

Blends
Blending certain coffee beans with another bean is a great way to add flavor to your coffee. Blends allow you to have a taste of Kona in your coffee without paying the hefty price tag that 100% Kona coffee commands. For me it's a way to add that little touch of luxury to the every day. Using blends is a great way to remember vacations and travels and introductions to wonderful new flavors along the way.

It is important also to remember that your choices for flavor and enjoyment do not even end here. There are preparation methods that affect the taste as well as presentation methods. French press coffee is thought of by many as the only way to drink coffee. Others prefer cappuccino or espresso. You can also drink organic coffee for many additional benefits and a very distinctive coffee drinking experience.

Whatever type of coffee or flavorful blend you concoct, the important thing to remember about drinking coffee is that it is an enjoyable experience that really is not limited to one culture, economy, country, or social class. Coffee is a drink that is enjoyed around the world and it is one drink that can link us all and help us find common ground, even among our differences.
